our BIGGEST pumpkin ever

As we were approaching the state park to hike at Amicalola Falls, Hank and I spotted rows of giant pumpkins. Nathan had fallen asleep so we told him that this farm was a definite stop on our way to Octoberfest. We weren't planning on a patch trip that day or buying a huge pumpkin. I think our timing was just right though. It was on a Friday (no crowds), end of Sept. (still a little early for the pumpkin patch), and the selection was large at this farm. Most of the pumkins were $50-$100 but we stumbled upon 2 very nice round ones for $30 and just couldn't pass one of those up!

Crutches aside, Nathan trying to hoist this biggie into the wheelbarrow with Hank keeping things steady!

...a 2nd GO at it.

Admiring their strentgh and the pumpkin we decided on.

Time to make some room in the back of the car!

WOW! That's just decoration right? It won't be turning into a jack-o-lantern, will it? I just can't imagine carving that baby! Can you imagine all the pumpkin gunk (like my technical term?) inside that thing?

I bet H & H love it though! They probably have the biggest pumpkin in the neighborhood!
