Pitt., PA - Grandma's Funeral

The funeral was very nice, a Polish Slovak Catholic mass in the church where my Mom and Dad were married, 37 years ago. The church, grounds, and cemetary were all beautiful. Although we did not attend a burial in cemetary it was place where some found solice after the mass. It is always nice to go back to Pittsburgh and see steam cloud form in the sky from the mills, pass signs that go unread by myself as much of them are for the eyes of the polish, slovaks, or bulgarians that newly immigrated as steelworkers beg. in 1890. My grandmother and her 11 siblings were all raised in a small house right outisde of the city. My Grandmother was born in 1921 and was the 7th, yet the last surviving of the 12 children.

A stop at Mantsch Blue Bonnet Bakery for goodies.

Typical house in Homestead.

Cousins at the luncheon.

Hailey with Katherine and U. Matt taking a seat. The luncheon was a nice way to gather after the funeral, recompose, and gear up for the trip home.

Harrison in his spiffy tie + a sour lemon.

Gathered together with A. Cheryl and A. Pearl before parting our ways.
